New Medium Article: First, My Mother Sent Me My Father’s Ashes

When my father died, my relationship with my mother was already strained. However, his mortal ending was also the end of our family. It had been a long time coming. 

With the holidays approaching, it is impossible to not think of them. This essay is a good reminder that blood doesn’t have to tie you to toxic people. You can let go. Family never outweighs your personal well-being.
